Goal Planning – Make money from home

This is my first blog on WordPress. I have set up this blog in order to record my journey in the creation of our new Goals On Target  system. My buddy Riaan from South Africa and me are working together to build www.goalsontarget.com. It is designed to be a free to use goal planning, task and time management system that helps you achieve your goals and transform your life from the one you find yourself in to the life you should be having and deserve.

Okay, there are other systems out there that do this but goals on target is different because:

  1. Its free.
  2. We feel its better than other systems available.
  3. It lets you collaborate with others on your goals if you want to.
  4. Get this … we PAY YOU to use it.
  5. Did I say it was free?

Does this sound too good to be true? I admit it does sound amazing but …. amazingly …. thats what we are doing. The site and business is simple. The site pays users to use and reccomend the system. We get revenue through Google and other ad providers and we share some of that revenue subject to activity (i.e. actually using the system) and ‘network building’.

We think we are on to a winner here but only time, effort in promoting the site and working at this will tell. I will keep you posted with this internet pilgrims progress.

We are about 9 days away from the beta launch on 1st May now so I am starting to get really excited about it and can’t wait to get started promoting the site and the service and helping people achieve their goals whilst at the same time helping them and us make money.

Stay tuned and I’ll keep you posted.

Goals On Target Went Live!!!

We did it!! Three months of hard work and now we have got Goals On Target live and it has its first 50 or so usrs in the first week. Its a slow but steady start and I am happy with that while we are still in beta month for the first month.

We are now starting to promote the system and getting a good response though we will stillbe tweaking a few thigns here and there over the first month and I am sure ongoing.

Go over to http://www.goalsontarget.com and have a play.

All the best.

Network Marketing vs Word of Mouth – whats the difference?

Everyone knows that word of mouth is the best form of advertising any business can get. It appears to be free and generally new customers are encouraged to use your service or buy your offering because they have been recommended to do so by someone they trust. It makes the sale more frictionless. Network marketing on the other hand taps into the networks of people, often friends and family, and results in a friends trying to recruit or sell a product or service to them on a regular basis in return for a commission. So I guess the main difference is that the person doing the spreading of the word, i.e. the ‘marketer’, has a financial incentive to do so and therefore becomes a little tainted by that. Somehow their trust level in the eyes of the ‘message receiver’ is reduced.

This means the level of trust the receiver had in the first place with the marketer is crucial. For example if the level of trust was already low then the chances of making a sale in terms of the message being accepted and acted upon becomes very low. So erosion of trust is the main difference between word of mouth and network marketing. From this I conclude that credibility is vital to be a successful network marketer. So if you want to be successful in this area you must build credibility.

The reason for the erosion of trust between messenger and message receiver is the thought that the messenger ‘would say that’ after all they are being paid to deliver the message and have a vested interest in its successful delivery. This leads me to believe that if you make the method by which the messenger is paid more subtle or more acceptable then this affects the way the message receiver perceives the message. For example; imagine a situation where you get to use an online product for free and you are paid a portion of the advertising revenue generated on the products web site. In this case everyone can join in, use the product and get paid, in theory!

This is what we will do at Goals on Target  – the system provides a goal planning and management system that is essential to any business opportunity seeker. If you fail to plan you are planning to fail. Users can sign up and use the system for free. Revenue is generated on the site by various context sensitive ads and active users are encouraged to promote the site to friends, family, colleagues and the internet in general through various free promotion methods and also paid promotion meth0ds. Active users in each users network generate revenue and the user is paid a portion of this as long as they remain active themselves. This is a nice version of Network Marketing as the user doesn’t pay anything to anyone, in fact the user gets paid to use the product as long as they are active users. So there is a nice win-win-win ecosystem here. The owners of Goals on Target get ad revenue, the advertiser gets exposure and clicks and the user gets paid to use the system and also gets a great system to help them organise their goals in life.

Let me know what you think of the concept. Bye for now.
